Loom Beadwork is somewhat uncommon among early Native American work, although it was practiced among the Eastern, Great Lakes, and Midwest Tribes.  Today, loom beadwork is the most common technique used in Oklahoma to create fancy dance clothes, dance belts, and  other large flat work.  Great for armbands, bracelets, hatbands, headbands, legging strips, and other adornment on your attire.

Looming                                   by Kara Paris    

Learn the ancient art form of glass bead making - Lampwork.  Come and find out you can really make beads too!  You will learn safety with the torch, hot glass, simple round beads, decorating with dots, cylinders, decorating with lines, use of a marver, and making stringers.

Continue the ancient art form of glass bead making – Lampwork part II.  Come and find how to make different shaped beads and decorate beads on a more advanced level!  Part I is a prerequisite.  You will continue with safety, and the basics, make stringers, learn flow beads, learn to make a heart shaped bead, and more elaborate decorations.  Demonstration on making twisties.

Rosette  Appliqué                     by Kara Paris    

In Rosette Appliqué Beading students will use Czech beads to learn the return stitch in appliqué by beading in concentric circles to make a rosette.  The return Stitch is not a traditional Native American beadwork technique however it has been recognized as one of the best methods in the last fifty years.

Learn to make an Indian type choker, using bone or horn.  Choose one of three styles to create your own look.  Leave with a finished choker.
